Grad School

I got into the Sound Department at the Art Institute of Chicago!

I got a rejection letter from the Video dept last saturday, and was pretty bummed (though immediately after I went to meet someone about being part of a group video show), and then Rob called me today while I was at work to tell me I got another letter from them...

I wavered for a moment, not sure whether I really wanted to know, and then just had him open it. Silence, and then, "Wooooo!"

Tears. I'm over them now, but it was quite a thing. 5 years in the making. I'm pleasantly shocked.

I guess I'm finally shifting.

Today, BYOTV opening at the New American Art Union, tomorrow, Disjunct in Olympia. Then my 'weekend'.

Hey, congrats! I hear it's a good program. And, you know, Chicago.

holyloki: I dunno

But Chicago is no Portland...

I'm going to miss this place, for sure.

I'm going to pick your brain about Chicago at a later date, indeed.

canneryrow: good thing it was nice out

Hey, Isaac and I went to this NAAU thing and we saw a room full of people looking at each other. No you. A few grainy TVs. What gives?

I went for a bit later on, my piece is playing this week I guess. The idea is that they have a broadcast network in the studio—did you check out the "Operator's Manual"?

No. Also, the triangle room in the middle was closed. We heard noises though.

Yeah, the wedge isn't open. The idea is that the show is a television signal—the wedge is the studio.
