I just talked to a woman's grandmother who was so cute and talked about her granddaughter and gave me her grandaughter's home phone number so I could call her...no luck on reaching the granddaughter yet, but that grandmother was the cutest thing in Phon-a-thon yet, and it just exceeded the in unison answering machine message from a Texan couple I got earlier. Today has been sparse, but a bit cute. At least I didn't get the two dead people we had today... : /

Dead people are the worst. I actually lied about my worst call when Shannon asked me, because I didn't want to scare you guys. I think I told you about it though.. I was doing event calling and some woman I called told me her son had passed away, and wouldn't be attending Reed in the fall, which led me to believe it was an incoming freshman who had died.

Anyway - cute people are better. Any invitations to dinner yet?

No, no invitations to dinner yet, but an artist woman who has been in Indonesia for the last 15 years gave me her email address just off the fly...it was cool. She has actually survived over there doing photography and selling it to tourists etc...it sounded neat, at least as far as being able to make it and do her art at the same time.

Yeah, I wondered about it when you didn't talk about the dead person, but I figured you had good reason...
